Robert H. Laessig (American, 1913-2010)

"Chaste Corner". Oil on fibrous paper with deckled edges, signed lower left corner and titled on back of mat board and on a piece of adhesive verso of painting, adhered to mat board around the perimeter of the painting, under glass with double mat board in gilt wood frame, overall 30 ½" x 38 ½".

Inscription by the artist verso to mat board "To you a very fine couple I wish nothing but the best for the coming season and may this painting bring you hours of zen. Happiness to you both, Robert H. Laessig Nov. 28, 1985."

Condition: Very good, adhesive to verso of paper likely done by the artist as paper has been painted over and no evidence of inpainting visible under UV light.
