Robert L. ANDERSON: Abstract - Collage on Board
Abstract collage of cut and torn paper and paint on masonite, unframed, having geometric and linear elements, in tones of brown and tan, signed in pencil lower right, "R. Lindberg Anderson" (American, 1928-2017). Mr. Anderson was born in Chicago, trained as an archaeological draftsman and graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago with a B.A.E. and M.A.E. He worked as an art director/designer-illustrator, securing positions with Marshall Field (Chicago), the New York Times, fashion advertising agencies, Harlequin Books and Family Circle Magazine. As well as two other children's books, Mr. Anderson illustrated "Hubert", which was awarded one of 10 best children's books illustrations of 1967. He also designed a set of Christmas cards for Tiffany in the 1960s. Provenance: From the artist's estate. [24 x 32 inches]. In good condition.
