Robert Mangold (American, b. 1937)
Untitled/A Suite of Four Works, 1989, edition of 40 plus proofs, co-published by Brooke Alexander Editions and Paula Cooper Gallery, New York, printed by Ted Warner at Damage Press, Brooklyn (robertmangoldprints.com, 1989.01.01-04). Each signed "R. Mangold" in pencil l.r., numbered "27/40" in pencil l.l., and with dry stamp l.l. Color woodcuts on Okawara paper, sheet sizes 14 3/4 x 26 5/8 in. (37.3 x 67.5 cm), presented in a common frame.
Condition: Full sheets with deckled edges, floated within the frame, not examined out of frame.
Estimate $3,000-5,000
The four are framed together in a Plexiglas box frame measuring 39 1/4 x 63 x 2 inches, so unframing them is not an option. The sheets appear to be hinged to the backing at each corner but are rippled and appear to be otherwise loose. The colors are strong, and the paper has a creamy, warm tone to it.
Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging. Any condition statement given, as a courtesy to a client, is only an opinion and should not be treated as a statement of fact. Skinner shall have no responsibility for any error or omission.
