Abstract composition, 1981. Limited edition screenprint in colors, signed, dated, and numbered in pencil in the lower left, printers proof numbered 3/6, publishers blind stamp in the lower right corner, hinged to linen backing under glass and floated in a gold metal frame, overall 46" x 33 ¼".

Chicago native Robert Natkin attended the School of Art Institute of Chicago until 1952. Finding sources of inspiration in Post-Impressionist paintings, decorative arts, and Willem de Kooning over the years, Natkin became associated with Color Field painting, Abstract Expressionism, and Lyrical Abstraction. Working in series, his first solo show was at the Wells Street Gallery in 1958, and he was included in the international exhibition ‘Timeless Paintings from the USA’ at the Galerie Facchetti in Paris in 1968. His first retrospective was the following year at the San Francisco Museum of Art. He is represented internationally in institutions like the Centre Pompidou, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and National Gallery of Australia.

Condition: Overall good, slightly faded, minor time toning to paper.
