Robert T. Ritter (B.1949) January oil on canvas signed lower right 36 x 58 inches; 43 1/4 x 65 1/2 inches frame Robert Ritter was born in Buffalo, New York. His interest in art was sparked when he successfully completed some basic art courses in his senior year of high school. Shortly after he graduated, he acquired a position as an illustrators assistant in a large upscale advertising agency. Ritter showed ability in the area of figure drawing, and he submitted a design to "The Chicago Tribune" fashion contest and was selected for one of the top awards. Shortly after receiving this award, he was offered a position as fashion illustrator with Biefield Studios in Chicago. He spent over a decade employed by that company and became well established as a commercial artist.
