Robert Wagoner (b. 1928) Flood Travel Trailer Series
Untitled: Scouting Party
Oil on panel
9 1/2" x 16 1/2" sight
Signed lower left: ROBERT WAGONER
Framed 12 1/2" x 19 1/4"
Gerri, Dick and the Flood family were road warriors. Art dealers usually are. The Floods drove their travel trailer around the country, both for work and for fun. They frequently stopped at the homes of their artist friends, and began a tradition of asking the artists to paint a picture on a board to decorate the trailer. They framed them alike and travelled around the country with them hanging on the trailer walls. These were not commissioned paintings, yet the artists all seem to have done some pretty good work. It's surely a testament to how beloved Dick and Gerri were by their friends.
