Very beautiful old religious bas-relief representing the Descent from the Cross made by Rogeau.
This “Sulpician” type molding painting sculpture in sea foam is mounted in an oval carved dark wood frame. All in a remarkable state of conservation.
It represents the Descent from the Cross
Note the very good condition of this bas relief as well as the fineness of all the details of the 8 characters, and its decoration.
The patina of the whole is impeccable.
Also note the presence of a signature of the artist at the bottom of the bas relief.
