Condition Report:
The movement is in working condition at the time of cataloguing. The chronograph function is working properly. The crystal with signs of wear from 12 to 9 o'clock. The lumes on the hands and indexes are reacting momentarily under UV light and has a consistent colour. The hands with minor signs of wear. The subsidiary dials and minute track with extremely minor signs of discolouration hardly visible to the naked eye, possibly due to aging. Otherwise the dial is in very good overall condition. The bezel has been replaced during a service, with minor signs of wear and pinhead dings at places. The case is likely polished, with very minor signs of wear only. The upper left lug with a very minor dent in the corner. The numbers between the lugs are very crisp and very easy to read. The case back with light surface wear and minor pinhead dings from the clasp. Inside the 6239 case back is stamped "C.R.S". The 7205 bracelet with 71 end links is stamped the second quarter of 1969, and minor signs of wear only. Otherwise the watch is in very good overall condition considering its age and is very attractive.

Catalogue Note:
One of the rarest and most desirable Daytona references, the 6241 was produced in a short period between 1965 to 1969 only. Even more exceptional would be the feature of the "Paul Newman" dial in the present example. Named after the famous American race car driver and actor, Paul Newman has been seen sporting a 6239 regularly with this "exotic dial", characterized by square indexes in the subsidiary registers. These dials were available in black or white, though not very popular at their launch, it has become an extremely desirable icon in watch collecting of today. The design has not been brought back until recent years, when the reference 126529LN reintroduced it for the 100th anniversary of the "Le Mans" endurance race. The present example furthermore retains lumes that are consistent in size and react under UV and its box and garantie, a rare feat among vintage Daytona examples.
