There is probably no more desirable vintage watch model today than the Rolex Daytona featuring an exotic or "Paul Newman" dial. These watches earned their nickname from the fact that Paul Newman wore a Daytona with an exotic white dial featuring square markers in the subsidiary registers. It is believed that Rolex had Singer produce these exotic dials to evolve with the trend toward more unusual and bright chronograph dials. The watch was a gift from his wife, Joanne Woodward, and he wore it for many years. Newman's watch sold for over $17.7 million at auction last October in New York City.

This present watch is the same reference Paul Newman wore with the same white exotic dial variation. It was consigned by the original owner who purchased it while traveling in Fiji in the early 1970s. The owner treated the watch with care and wore it on rare, special occasions. He had it serviced only once, with a solitary service mark from a watchmaker on the inside of the case back. The case and bezel appear to be unpolished and the dial is also in spectacular condition. Furthermore, it features the rare 7205 Swiss-Made bracelet with 71 end links, a combination highly-prized by collectors.

This is an exceptional opportunity to purchase one of the most stunning examples of a "Paul Newman" Daytona that we have seen offered by any auction house or watch dealer. Moreover, you get to own a watch being sold by the original owner, cherished, rarely worn, and retaining its original condition and characteristics.
