The Rolex GMT Master II represents an evolution of the classic dual time zone watch developed by Rolex for Pan American Airways pilots in the 1950s. This watch is a perfect example of why Rolex sport watches are so belovedÑthey were originally produced to serve a specific professional purpose, as tools for sport or other specialized technical tasks, and later adapted for the consumer market and general public. The Daytona, for example, was developed for race car drivers, the Submariner for deep sea divers, and the GMT for globetrotting pilots and explorers. This particular example is in excellent condition, with a strong case, full lugs, and original dial and hands.
