REF.: 16520
CASE NUMBER: S838967
CASE MATERIAL: Stainless steel
CASE DIMENSIONS: 40 mm diameter
DIAL: Black with luminous markers and subdials
BRACELET MATERIAL: Rolex Oyster stainless steel bracelet with fold-over clasp, ref. 78390
BRACELET SIZE: 7-1/4 inches
MOVEMENT: Automatic Zenith
FUNCTIONS: Time and chronograph
CALIBER: 4030
The present watch is a wonderful example of an automatic Daytona reference 16520 with silver subdial registers that have turned a delightful "tropical" brown. This "color-change" dial is nicknamed the "Patrizzi dial" after the watch auctioneer Osvaldo Patrizzi, who reportedly helped discover and popularize these dials. This is also an early example of a "Patrizzi" Daytona with an "inverted 6" in the hour register, meaning that the Ô6Õ in the hour register looks like a Ô9Õ to the person looking directly at the watch. The present example exhibits a strong case with only light signs of polish and beautifully preserved dial, its overall exceptional condition adding to the rarity of the Patrizzi characteristics. Accompanied by original presentation and outer boxes, warranty papers, extra link, Oyster and Daytona booklets and hang tag.
