A rare vintage wristwatch with tropical dial and centre seconds, so called "Big Bubble Back" - CHRONOMETER Movm. No. 38332, Ref. 3131, Cal. Hunter, Case No. 472649, Dimensions 33 mm, circa 1959, Origin Schweiz Case: 14 K rose gold, screw back with marking 3131, screwed "Rolex Oyster Plus" winding crown. Dial: Silvered, applied gold indexes / Arabic gold numerals, gold leaf hands without luminous material. Movm.: Automatic. This attractive wristwatch chronometer has a tropical dial with an even patina that has taken on a light sand-coloured tone with slight speckles due to environmental influences. The beautiful 14 K rose gold case is in excellent condition; it has a smooth bezel, applied indexes and Arabic numerals, as well as beautifully shaped leaf hands of the same gold colour. The central seconds hand is blued, which creates an exciting contrast and makes the timepiece a real eye-catcher on the wrist. The convex shape of the case back, which houses the automatic winding mechanism, gave the Rolex Bubbleback its nickname. It was produced from the early 1930s to the mid-1950s in various materials and with a variety of dials and was the best-selling Rolex model for a long time. Case: very good, worn. Dial: very good, oxydized. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning needed.
