Rolex - Datejust Ovettone Lefty

(*) A very rare vintage wristwatch for left-handers with red date disc Movm. No. 61344 / HF 35679, Ref. 6105, Case No. 769839, Dimensions 36 mm, circa 1952, Origin Schweiz Case: 18 K gold, screw back with marking 6105, fluted bezel, original, very well preserved "Rolex Super Oyster" winding crown, Rolex lizard leather strap (aftermarket). Dial: Silvered "pie-pan" dial, sunburst decoration, applied dart indexes with luminous dots (missing), luminous alpha hands. Movm.: Automatic. The watch was converted for a left-handed wearer, which is not unusual, as the executed conversion is possible without difficulty. On an ex-factory left-handed model case and reference number would also be reversed accordingly. Dial and hands are in excellent original condition, as is the case, although it has been polished. The hunter calibre is very well preserved with a blue hairspring. Reference 6105 is not only one of the rarest of the vintage Rolex models but also one of the most wearable and striking designs - thanks to its generous proportions. It is one of the first DATEJUSTS and the large version of the Bubble Back, the Ovettone (large bubble), as the collectors like to call it. This rare gold example with left-hand winding crown features a beautiful silvered dial with red numerals on the date disc – a marvellous timepiece for a discerning collector or for a lover of fine vintage watches. Case: very good. Dial: very good. Movm.: very good, capable of running, cleaning recommended.
