Rolls-Royce - Phantom III Convertible 1937 - 1937

The last Rolls-Royce to be produced before WW2 was the Phantom III. It was the successor of the Phantom II from 1936.

. The Phantom III had independent front suspension based on a design by General Motors and a four-speed gearbox which included Overdrive from 1938. A total of 727 Phantom III cars were built until 1939.

. The Phantom III was presented at the Olympia Motor Show in 1935 and was at that time the most technically advanced car in the world. Many consider this Rolls-Royce to be the best car in history. It was feared during the development of the III that Henry Royce wouldn’t be able to experience the car because of his deteriorating health, sadly it turned out to be the case. He died on 22 April 1933.
