Roman Apollo Balsamarium
1st century BC-1st century AD. A hollow-formed bronze balsamarium formed as a bust of Apollo with tightly-coiled curls of hair extending to the neck, soft facial features with exaggerated eyes and small mouth, decorated border of the tunic clasped at the left shoulder with a disc brooch; rim to the lower chest, small hinged lid to the crown of the head, lateral lugs and drop handle with ends formed as goose-heads on recurved necks.
