Roman Bifacial Figural Plaque
1st-3rd century AD. A rectangular lead plaque, one side with flying Victory holding a wreath, ring-and-dot decoration below; the other side with the goddess Venus, holding her hair with both hands, ring-and-dot decoration to the field. 12.2 grams, 36mm (1 1/2"). Property of a Dutch gentleman; formerly in an old collection formed in the 1970s.
