Circa 125-130 AD. A carved marble bust of a Hadrianic lady modelled in the round with loose pleated palla; the facial features soft and eyes deep-set, with characteristic hairstyle comprising braids pulled back in a chignon behind her head, with a wreath worn above; mounted on a custom-made stand. 1 kg total, 20cm including stand (8"). Property of a central London collector; acquired in Paris in 2014; formerly in an old French collection.
