A stunning necklace comprised of dozens and dozens of carnelian beads - of rounded, cylindrical, and lozenge shapes, brilliant vermilion hues, and most with lovely translucency - all arranged with gold spacer beads in a balanced, symmetrical design that comes to an elegant point at the center. Length of strand: 17" L (43.2 cm); size of largest bead: 0.35" W x 0.45" H (0.9 cm x 1.1 cm)
Provenance: private Dunn collection, Coral Springs, Florida, USA, acquired in the 1990s

Condition Report: Ancient beads strung in modern times with modern gold spacers. Some of the beads have light wear including tiny chips, scratches, and deposits commensurate with age. Most, if not all, of the carnelian beads present with gorgeous translucency.
