The reverse shows Aeternitas, to propagate Titus loyalty to the empire during a turbulent period, after his relationship with the princess Berenike. Aeternitas is the divine personification of eternity, symbolising permanence and the everlasting nature of the Roman Empire. SOL and LUNA to add another dimension to the imagery: by possessing both day and night in her grasp, Aeternitas demonstrates her dominion over all time.
