Roman Faunus Playing Pipes Figure
1st century BC-1st century AD. A bronze lamp or vessel lid with figure of Faunus (Pan) advancing, wearing a sheepskin kilt secured at the waist and with a short tail, holding a shepherd's crook in the left hand and playing the syrinx held to the mouth in the right hand; basal ring to the underside of the base, pierced hinge lug.
