Roman Glass Ampulla, ex-Bonhams
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A delicate bottle known as an ampulla, free-blown from semi-translucent glass of a pale green hue. The vessel features a slightly concave base, a spherical body with a gentle indentation around the shoulder, a lightly corseted neckline, and a cylindrical neck with a ground rim. Brilliant areas of silvery and rainbow-hued iridescence have developed across the vessel and handsomely complement its soft verdant hues. Size: 2.75" W x 4" H (7 cm x 10.2 cm)
