Roman Glass Dish Shallow Basin

**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful dish that is free-blown from yellow-green glass with a shallow basin, squat walls, and a flat base. The rim flares slightly at the top, and the surfaces of both the basin and exterior and covered with thin layers of weathering film. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 3.9" W x 1.25" H (9.9 cm x 3.2 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Davis collection, Houston, Texas, USA, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York

Condition Report: Repaired from a few large pieces, with restoration to a few areas along base, and resurfacing, light adhesive residue, and earthen stabilization material along new material and break lines. Abrasions and minor nicks to rim, walls, and base, with encrustations and weathering film on interior and exterior surfaces. Nice earthen deposits throughout.
