Roman Glass Jar w/ Silvery Iridescence

Roman, Imperial Period, 1st to 3rd century CE. A graceful free-blown glass jar that sits on a slightly flattened base and rises to a globular body followed by a short tubular neck with a rolled lip. Two trailing handles join the shoulders to the neck and rim. The glass presents with deep amber hues and areas of brilliant silvery iridescence that formed over the ages. A dazzling piece that showcases Roman artistry with glassware. Size: 2.25" W x 3" H (5.7 cm x 7.6 cm)

Provenance: East Coast collection, New York Gallery, New York City, New York, USA, acquired before 2010
