Roman Glass Unguentarium, Blue Surface Rigaree
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. A gorgeous example of a glass unguentarium meant for holding scented oils or kohl makeup, free-blown from translucent glass of an aqua hue, its long tubular form wrapped by threadlike rigaree of aubergine hues from end to end. Positively elegant! Size: 4.25" H (10.8 cm); 4.75" H (12.1 cm) on included custom stand.
