Roman Glass Unguentarium - Cobalt Blue

Roman, early Imperial Period, ca. 1st century CE. A lovely free-blown unguentarium formed from semi-translucent, cobalt-blue glass with a round but stable base, a teardrop-form body with a lightly indented neck line, a tubular neck, and a rolled rim. Scattered areas of faint silvery iridescence elegantly complement the vessel's deep aqua color. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 1.25" W x 3" H (3.2 cm x 7.6 cm).

Condition Report: Lower body repaired from multiple small pieces, with small losses and light adhesive residue along break lines. Chips to lower body, with light abrasions to body, neck, and rim. Faint silver iridescence and light earthen deposits throughout.
