Roman Gold Earring Pair

2nd-3rd century AD. A matched pair of gold earrings, each a hollow hoop with granule and ring, dangle with cell and inset garnet cabochon, lentoid garnet bead and glass bead finial. 15.40 grams total, 65mm each (2 1/2"). Property of a North London gentleman; previously in an important Mayfair, London, UK collection, acquired in the 1970s. [2]
