A bronze strap handle with curved D-section shank developing to a siren with lateral wings, female head with chignon hairstyle, nude torso with crescent legs below. hollow to the underside. Cf. Rolland, H., Bronzes Antiques de Haute Provence, Paris, 1965, item 324, for type. 177 grams, 80mm (3"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s.
