Roman Mercury Statuette
2nd-3rd century AD. A bronze statuette of the god Mercury (Greek Hermes), standing naked on a pyramidal basis, holding caduceus in his left hand, the right arm outstretched holding a sack of gold, wearing his characteristic cap (petasos), the feet closed in his winged shoes (talaria").
