A discoid bronze phalera with facing lion's head in high-relief, the animal roaring and with semi-naturalistic detailing to the mane, eyes, and muzzle, flange border, pierced for attachment. 70 grams, 58mm (2 1/4"). Ex collection of a Surrey, UK, gentleman; acquired on the UK art market; previously on the European art market before 2000.
