Roman Necklace with Gold Pendant
1st century AD and earlier. A curved gold tubular pendant with flange to each end and circumferential ribbing to the centre of a restrung necklace of earlier striated green ceramic beads interspersed with cream discoid beads; modern clasp. 25 grams, 45.5cm (18"). From a private collection of seals and amulets, the property of a Canadian gentleman living in London; from his father's collection formed in the late 1960s to 1980s.
