Roman Orontes River God Figure

1st-2nd century AD. A bronze figure of the river god Orontes swimming in his element with arms outstretched before and behind his muscular body, head erect and gaze turned slightly upwards, locks of curled hair forming a frame to the face; rectangular tiered base with flared feet. 323 grams, 17.5cm (7").
