Roman Silver Ring with Star Gemstone

3rd-4th century AD. A silver ring with expanding D-section hoop, scooped shoulders and tall bezel, inset carnelian intaglio with a star motif. 7.11 grams, 26.31mm overall, 18.88mm internal diameter (approximate size British R, USA 8 1/2, Europe 18 3/4, Japan 18) (1"). From an East London collection; previously in a collection formed between 1990-2000.
