1st-2nd century AD. A silver figurine of an anguiped, a muscular nude youth with tousled hair, advancing with right arm raised, both legs developing to serpents with gaping jaws. 44 grams, 51mm (2"). Property of a gentleman; acquired in the late 1960s-early 1970s. The Greek god Typhon was sometimes depicted as an anguiped.
