Roman Young Hercules Statuette

1st-2nd century AD. A bronze supporter from an assemblage, the young Hercules (Greek Heracles) standing nude in advancing pose with left arm bent and hand cupped, right arm extending behind the head and hand flat; rustic cloak with detailed lion-skin draped to the shoulders. 304 grams total, 12.7cm (5"). Ex an important Dutch collection; acquired on the European art market in the 1970s. [No Reserve]
