Roman & Byzantine Bronze & Brass Artifacts & Key Rings

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century; Near East, Byzantine Period, ca. 5th to 10th century CE. An assortment of 5 Roman and Byzantine artifacts: key rings, a pendant bust, and a seal box lid with a face - all cast from bronze, leaded-bronze, and brass. The 2 rings with the key at an angle to the shank- are both Roman made and bronze. The third ring is Byzantine period, and this shank is quite petite, and the key stem has a loop to articulate on the band. The pendant bust is cast from leaded bronze and was found in the Levant region of the Roman Empire, the woman faces right with her hair half pull up under a veil, her partial torso draped in clothing and the integral suspension loop at the top. The last item is a tiny lid - a hinge at the top, the obverse adorned with a stylized face in relief with shallow incised eyes and mouth. Size (largest ring key stem): 0.75" L x 0.5" W (1.9 cm x 1.3 cm); (band opening): 0.75" L (1.9 cm); US ring size 7.75; other Roman ring: US ring size 4; Byzantine ring: US ring size 3

Condition Report: Patina and mineral deposits on each piece. Ring shank on Roman ring is misshapen and may not fit correctly, could be used as pendant. Other rings are wearable. Softening to details on pendant bust, and suspension loop is intact.
