Roman carnelian intaglio. Draped bust of a young man. The character, turned to the left, shows a finely sketched hairflow and a face which is similar to Mercury's type. The shoulder is partially uncovered and protected by the chlamys. A cavity on the head must be signalled: it should be considered as a chipping rather than a headgear. Partially reshaped edges, presumably done in ancient times. Wear marks and traces of the ancient polishing. Light chippings. Bright colors. End of the 1st century B.C. - Beginning of the 1st century A.D.
