Roman ceramic discus lamp depicting panther

A Roman ceramic discus lamp depicting panther, 1st Century AD, with head upturned, grape vine hanging overhead and a full vase or basket behind. The discus is set off by a border of ridges and impressed circle near nozzle. The flattened bottom with planta pedis impression bordered by incised parallel lines. L: 3 ½ in (8.9 cm). Light surface deposits. A nice example depicting classic Dionysian imagery. Ex German private collection.
