Romano-Egyptian Faience & Glass Bead Necklace

Egypt, Romano-Egyptian Period, ca. 1st to early 5th century CE. A fabulous necklace featuring glazed faience tube beads and petite faience seed-form beads in polychrome colors that alternate with several lozenge-shaped glass beads. Pairs of blue faience tubes create spaces between glass beads constructed using mosaic and millefiori techniques, and the center of the accessory bears green-hued faience tubes that gracefully complement the lighter glass. Strung in modern times with twisted twine, this is a wearable necklace that is sure to turn heads and spark conversation! Size (necklace): 26.5" L (67.3 cm); (largest bead): 1.1" L (2.8 cm)

Condition Report: Strung in modern times and wearable as shown. Faience and glass beads are ancient, and stringing is modern. Nicks and light fading to color of some beads, with minor pitting to some glass beads, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remains of color on faience beads as well as iridescence on glass beads.
