Romano-Egyptian Gold Snake Pendant Necklace

1st century BC-2nd century AD. A restrung necklace of carnelian oblate beads, agate and other spacer beads, schist triangular dangles; the centrepiece a gold pendant formed as a coiled cobra with raised head to the centre, suspension loop and three applied granules. 49 grams, 58cm (23").
