[ translate ]

\Artist: Ronald Ossory Dunlop (Ireland 1894-1973)
Technique: Oil on hardboard\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 51. 5_41. 5_3_cm
This is a beautiful, colorful impressionistic painting by Ronald Ossory Dunlop. He was an Irish author and painter. He liked to paint in oil and his subject matters were mainly landscapes, seascapes, figure studies, portraits and still lifes. Dunlop was described by Frances Spalding, British art historian, critic and biographer, as an 'alla prima' painter of traditional subjects. Dunlop was born in Dublin, Ireland, to a Scottish-Irish Quaker family. Living in Ireland, London, and briefly the US, he exhibited widely, and achieved fame in his lifetime. He was elected a full member of the Royal Academy in 1950. And his work is instantly recognizable. However, as he generally signed his work "Dunlop" and his correspondence "R O Dunlop", his given names were not widely known. Dunlop's work can be found in a number of public galleries, including the Tate and National Portrait Gallery. The painting is framed. The frame has minor defects and it's included in the price. The well packed painting will be shipped with Post. NL.
