[ translate ]

Ronald Reagan Parker Big Red Gift Pen - This is an original gift pen presented by the White House during the Reagan administration, originally obtained by a White House employee who received this pen during the first several days of Reagan's presidency. Designed by the Parker Pen Company, this lot includes the original presentation box and refillable ink cartridge. Reagan began his political career as the Republican Governor of California, serving from 1967 until 1975. After two unsuccessful bids for the Presidency in 1968 and 1976, Reagan defeated Jimmy Carter in the 1980 presidential election. His administration was known for his supply-side economic policies, which focused on economic reform through the reduction of government spending as well as tax reductions. Reagan was also a passionate orator, most famously compelling General Secretary Mikhail Gorbachev to open the Berlin Wall in his famous 1987 Brandenburg Gate speech. Leaving office with an impressive 68% approval rating, Reagan is tied with Franklin Roosevelt and Bill Clinton as one of the most popular presidents in history. The winning bidder of this lot will receive the original certificate of authentication issued by Scott Velvet, president of Hollywood Rock-N Country.
