"Dear Hup
Another one has rolled around but I find it hard to believe.
Love,
Dutch."
President Reagan, at the time Governor, wrote this Christmas card to long-time friend "Hup", also known as Lydia Hupfer MacArthur (ca. 1890-1995), widow to Peter MacArthur. MacArthur was the Program Director at WOC in Davenport, Iowa, where he met a recent Eureka College grad, Ronald Reagan, who at the time was aspiring to be a radio sports announcer. MacArthur gave Reagan his first job out of college. Often and fondly, Reagan referred to the MacArthurs as "Ma" and "Pa" and sent them Christmas cards until Hup died in 1995 at 105 years old.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
