Rosenthal Studio-Line Artist Cup No. 25 Salome Porcelain Set 1989
This set consists of a cup and saucer made of German porcelain, designed by the artist Salome (Wolfgang Ludwig Cihlarz) as part of the Rosenthal Studio-Line collector’s series. The cup features a conical form transitioning into a spherical stem and a conical base. Characteristic features are two large, rectangular, blue porcelain wings serving as handles. The decoration is executed in vibrant overglaze colours of yellow, red and turquoise blue, overlaid with an intricate, hand-painted or stencilled gilded vine pattern. The interior of the cup is glazed yellow throughout.
The underside of the saucer displays the printed Rosenthal logo with a crown and crossed lines, above the word GERMANY. It also features the text ‘Künstlertasse Nr. 25 Salome’ and a stylised, gold-coloured signature ‘Salome’. On the upper side of the saucer, a gilded signature and date ‘Salome 89’ is applied within the white centre. The underside of the cup in the base shows identical markings: the Rosenthal GERMANY logo, the text ‘Künstlertasse Nr. 25 Salome’ and the stylised signature ‘Salome’.
