Rover Grille or Boot Badge Emblem.

This lot comprises a single automotive emblem for Rover, manufactured in the United Kingdom, dating from the late 20th century. The emblem features a clear acrylic lens over a multi-coloured graphic background, set into a black moulded plastic base. The design displays the traditional Viking longship motif with a red and gold sail and a gold-toned hull against a black ground. The name ROVER is printed in gold-toned capital letters across the upper portion of the badge. The reverse of the emblem is fitted with two integral plastic mounting pins for attachment to a vehicle. Significant adhesive residue and surface discoloration are present on the rear face.

More Information

The acrylic front lens exhibits numerous fine surface scratches and light abrasions consistent with use (photo 1). The gold-toned lettering and graphic design remain clearly visible through the lens. The perimeter shows minor edge wear and light chipping to the acrylic finish (photo 1). The reverse mounting pins are intact, though the backplate shows significant dirt, adhesive residue, and surface oxidation (photo 2).
