1 teapot H 11. 5 cm ø 10. 5 cm

Mrs. Carlyle,

The Lady Carlyle collection, a classic example of Royal Albert's romantic and floral legacy, is inspired by the extravagant rococo styles of the 18th century. It features a highly stylized floral design in bright, bold colors, a deep pink border, and elaborate gold scrollwork. The Pink Lady Carlyle pattern, in particular, has remained one of Royal Albert's most popular designs. It is a striking and elegant addition to any tea party or table setting. They are not easy to find.
The history of the Royal Albert brand, one of the best known in the world, also thanks to the omnipresent "Old Country Roses" decoration, is that of a modern "brand" passed from hand to hand since its origins.
The first production dates back to 1896. Until 1969 the name was “Thomas C. Wild”, in homage to its founder.
In 1970 the Wild family left the company and it was acquired by Allied English Pottery. The Royal Albert brand was used as early as 1904, combined with the initials of TC Wild.
The registration of the name “Royal Albert” as a “trade name” dates back to 1993.
The use of floral branding became common in the post-war period.
In 1972 the business was acquired by Royal Doulton. Production continued in England until 1998, when it was moved to Indonesia.
Since 2002 nothing has been produced in England anymore.
Today the Royal Albert brand, together with Royal Doulton and Wedgwood, belongs to WWRD Holding Ltd.
The best-known decoration, synonymous with Royal Albert production, "Old Country Roses" was designed by Harold Holdcroft in 1962, taking up the "Kings Ransom" pattern of 1921.
The first Royal Albert decorations recall, from afar, the very prestigious Crown Derby designs.
Royal Albert products, despite being among the most famous English ceramics in the world, belong to a qualitative range oriented towards mass use.
