Royal Duchess Mtn Bell Porc. Tableware

This set of fine porcelain tableware was manufactured in Bavaria, Germany, and features the botanical Mountain Bell pattern. The collection includes a large pitcher, a dinner plate, a dessert plate, and a teacup with a matching saucer. The decoration consists of clusters of pendant pink bell-shaped flowers, tan seed heads, and soft gray feathery foliage. Each piece is accented with a thin silver-toned metallic trim along the rims and handles. The underside of the pieces displays a green printed factory mark. The mark consists of the words ROYAL DUCHESS arranged in an arc over a stylized coronet crown. Below the crown are the words FINE CHINA, and an inverted arc at the base reads BAVARIA-GERMANY. The pitcher has a pronounced spout and a simple curved handle, while the plates feature a classic circular form with a slightly recessed center. The teacup is designed with an open loop handle. 17 plates, 13 saucers. 9 dessert plates, pitcher, 10 cups.
