Beautiful porcelain statue by Royal Dux from the first half of the 20th century depicting a shepherd with his flock. Artfully designed around 1916 by the famous German sculptor Hermann Schubert and made in the Czech Republic by the famous Royal Dux company. Schubert died in 1917. Schubert lived and worked in Rome and therefore you see a strong influence of Italian neoclassicism in his creations. A beautiful, light blue colored statue made of fine so-called bisque porcelain - an unglazed, white porcelain treated as a final product, with a matte appearance and texture to the touch.
