Royal Vienna - Figurine (1) - Porcelain

Elegant antique glazed porcelain figurine of a mandolin player, one of Ernst Wahliss' finest works. We see, down to the finest details, the contours of the face, the characteristic patinas of Wahliss' works, the muted yet noble light beige, blue ivory colours and gold. Very rare in its beauty statue. Ernst Wahliss was a leading Vienna retailer in porcelain and ceramic goods, who established his store in 1863. His almost overnight open another store in London, as well as take over the Alfred Stellmacher factory in Turn-Teplitz, today's Czechia. Ernst died in 1900. Two years later his sons, Hans and Erich, bought six hundred moulds from the Imperial and Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Vienna, and using these moulds began producing reproductions of Vienna porcelain. Marked with the Wien crown mark, and dated to 1897 - 1906. Marked to the base with Made in Austria in two locations, and marked with the trademark of Ernst Wahliss' company, as well as the number 4736 and the number 5, as well as painted three rows of numbers: 4736, 136, 8. 53 cm in height 23 cm in width 19 cm in depth 2595 g Excellent condition, there's a chip on the band around her neck and on the band on her hat, and on the not visible back side of the band on her leg, the end of the mandolin's neck is chipped, minor chips to the base and the flowers on which the musician leans. Minor losses to paint and gilt commensurate with age. Please carefully regard all photos. Item will be sent fully tracked and insured.
