Fabulous Royal Worcester Ewer with fruit painting signed by William Hawkins.
The registration number dates this ewer to 1898. The painting of apples, strawberries and delicate pink flowers is signed Hawkins, for William Hawkins. Hawkins was not only considered the foremost porcelain painter at Royal Worcester, but was also the foreman of the painting department and its chief teacher.
Everything about this ewer is top notch; the cobalt ground, the superlative gilding and the gilded double snake handle.
Measures 7 3/4" tall. Excellent condition with a bit of wear to the gilding on the foot.
