[ translate ]

\Artist: Rubens Capaldo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Hand signed\Dimensions: 79,5_99_7_cm
Oil on canvas depicting a naked woman, signed “Capaldo” on bottom left. Rubens Capaldo, painter and ceramicist born in Paris in 1908 and deceased in Naples in 1997. His painting stood out from his colleagues at the time, although one can see the influence of the Neapolitan school of Mancini and of the style of Crisconio, a painter highly esteemed by Rubens. Although among its depictions we find landscapes, children, still lifes, etc. he became famous for his nudes that took on a central role in most of his works, curved lines and colours definitely also influenced by his training as a ceramicist. Among the illustrated figures he expressed a mix of poetic sensations, so much so that he became one of the masters of Neapolitan painting. The painting is in excellent condition, no restorations or retouches emerged under Wood’s lamp. The buyer will receive a complimentary frame, shown in the pictures. It being a gift, we do not accept any complaints regarding damage to the frame caused by shipping. I am available for a possible free in-person pickup in Naples.
